£2000 reward for information

Up to £2000 reward for information received via Crimestoppers leading to the recovery of firearms stolen in a burglary in Bideford.

North Devon Police are asking for any information that may lead to the safe recovery of two firearms that are outstanding from a recent dwelling burglary in the Bideford area.

Officers are investigating a burglary that took place in Bideford overnight between Saturday 8 July and Sunday 9 July 2017. Amongst items stolen were a number of firearms.

Whilst a number of the firearms have been recovered, two of the firearms remain outstanding.

DI Naidoo from Barnstaple Police Station says: “I want to reassure members of the public that these outstanding weapons are not considered to pose a significant risk to the community. However it is vital that we recover them and make them safe.”

Devon and Cornwall Police Firearms Licencing Unit wanted to remind all owners of firearms of their responsibility to ensure their weapons are stored safely and securely in compliance with the requirements of their certificates.
