Appeal after attempted robbery, Ilfracombe

Police are seeking witnesses to an attempted knifepoint robbery in Ilfracombe which left a man injured.

The victim, a local man in his 40s, was confronted by three men as walked home along Tarry Lane around 9.15pm on Friday 13 January.

The offenders, all aged between 18 and 22, demanded the victim’s wallet and mobile phone. One of the offenders was brandishing a small blade and assaulted the victim before all three ran off.

The victim was treated for a cut to his face.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have seen the men or anything suspicious at the time in the area of Tarry Lane, which is a small path between the High Street and Belvedere Road.
