Appeal to trace good samaritan after woman robbed

Did you help a victim of a robbery in Saffron Lane, Leicester, on Sunday 17 July?

We’re investigating a robbery where a 25-year-old woman was approached by three men in Saffron Lane, near Saffron Lane Sports Stadium. They asked her for a cigarette and demanded her mobile.

The victim told the suspects she didn’t smoke and didn’t have a mobile. The victim was then assaulted using a metal hook and pushed to the ground. She sustained bruising to her head and body.

The suspects made off and were last seen climbing up onto the railway bridge. The victim managed to get up and stopped a passing motorist who assisted her.

The incident took place at about 8.40pm and we’d like to speak to the motorist who helped the victim, and anyone else who was in the area at the time who may have witnessed the incident.

The suspects have all been described as white, between 15 to 18 years old. One of them was wearing thin rimmed glasses, a black and white patterned bandana which covered the bottom part of his face, black hooded top and black trainers. The second suspect was wearing an electric blue hooded top.

Saffron Lane is a busy area and there were people and motorists around at the time, if you can help with our investigation please get in touch.
