Blaenau Gwent Inspector Issues Dispersal Order in Tredegar

Following recent reports of anti-social behaviour Tredegar area, there will be a 48 hour Dispersal Order (Under Section 35 of the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014) in place.
The order will start at 5pm on Friday 23rd December and will be in place for 48 hours.
The designated area of the order will include: Commercial Street, Castle Street, Morgan Street, Queen Victoria Street, Gwent Shopping Centre and The Circle in Tredegar.
Officers will be patrolling the area and will have the authority to direct anyone behaving anti-socially away from the area. If they return to that area after being moved on, they face being arrested.
Local Inspector, Sarah Greening said: “This dispersal order has been put in place following reports of anti-social behaviour in the Tredegar area,
“The above streets have recently seen an increase in disorder caused by local youths gathering in large groups of up to 40 children. It has also been reported that they are throwing eggs at passing cars and at shop fronts – there were 10 calls reported in this area on Friday 16th December alone.
“Officers will be on regular patrol in the areas affected to enforce the Dispersal Order and to prevent incidents of anti-social behaviour.”
