We have charged a man with the rape of a teenager in Belle Vue Road, Easton, Bristol on Thursday 9 January. Michael Murray, 28, of no fixed abode, is due before Bristol Magistrates’ Court today, Friday 24 January. He also faces a charge of causing a female to engage in sexual activity without consent. The victim has been updated and is receiving continued support.

Avon and Somerset Police aim to put the brakes on bicycle thefts with free bike marking events

Avon and Somerset Police are launching a campaign to reduce the number of bicycle thefts. Working in partnership with BikeRegister, this weekend marks the first of a number of bike marking and burglary prevention events across Avon and Somerset in 2020. Officers will be on hand to help bicycle owners register their bikes on the BikeRegister database and discreetly security mark their bikes.

We are investigating a burglary at a garage business in Langport during which power tools were stolen. Tools, plus car diagnostic equipment, were taken on Sunday 19 January shortly after 10.10pm. Residents warned to be vigilant following spate of burglaries in South Gloucestershire

We are asking local residents in South Gloucestershire to be mindful of their home security following a number of recent burglaries in the area. A total of five burglaries have been reported to have occurred at properties on Hambrook Lane in Stoke Gifford, Dorcas Avenue in Stoke Gifford, Bibury Avenue in Patchway and Bush Avenue in Little Stoke, between 2pm and 8pm on Thursday 16 January.
