Roads have been in Leicester city centre after a man was found injured last night.
Police were called at around 10.40pm last night (Thursday 1 June) by the ambulance service to a report of a man found seriously injured in Norton Street.
The man is currently at the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham where his condition is described as critical.
Norton Street at the junction of Upper and Lower Bond Street is currently closed to allow for a forensic examination of the scene.
Investigations are in their early stages to ascertain how he sustained his injuries.
We are keen to speak to the occupants of a black Audi which stopped at the scene to give medical assistance to the man but left before police arrived.
They could have vital information about the circumstances leading up to the man being found so we would urge them to get in touch.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting 17*230008.
