Officers have issued a warning after a couple were the victims of a distraction burglary in Glen Parva yesterday afternoon (Wednesday 19 September).
The incident was reported to have taken place around 3.45pm in Lancaster Way, when the victims returned home to find some tiles had come off their roof. While they were inspecting the damage three men in white flat-bed vehicle stopped outside their property.
They offered to fix the damage. When the victim came to paying for the damage he noticed a large amount of money had been taken from a drawer in the bedroom.
The suspects were all white, two of them have been described as being 30-40 years-old and the third man was in his 60s.
One of them had short dark hair, he was wearing a green t-shirt, jeans and had black work boots on that were very muddy. The second man was about 5ft 11ins tall, of muscular build, he had short light brown hair and stubble. He was wearing a navy blue polo shirt with red and white stripes on the collar and on the top of the pocket.
The older suspect was about 5ft 7ins and of large build. He was wearing a cap and a denim jacket.
Detective Constable Steph Burnham is investigating the incident, she said: “The suspects were in the area around the end of the school day and we’d like to speak to anyone who may have seen the suspects in the area. If you were travelling in this area and have a dash cam fitted to your vehicle please check the footage for any images that may help with our enquiries.
“We would also ask local people to remain vigilant and contact us if they have been visited in similar circumstances.”
