Police are appealing for witnesses to an incident on the M1 motorway.
At around 12.30am this morning (17 August), police received a call from a member of the public reporting a group of men fighting on the motorway.
It is believed that three men in a black Audi A4 had been following another three men in a black Vauxhall Astra from Oadby to the M1 motorway. Both vehicles stopped near to junction 23 northbound, where the occupants of the Astra assaulted the men from the Audi.
A 36-year-old man sustained an injury to his head and leg and was treated at the Leicester Royal Infirmary.
The suspects left the motorway in the Audi, leaving their Astra at the scene.
Officers are linking the incident to a report of a group of men who turned up at an address in The Fairway, Oadby, at around midnight last night, and threatened a man outside the property.
If you were near to junction 23 or in the vicinity of Oadby and recall seeing either of these vehicles or the fight itself, we would like to hear from you.
Call 101 and quote incident 22 of 17 August.
