Stolen tools that were recovered following some arrests in Leicester in May are being reunited with their owners at a second viewing event this weekend.
The tools were recovered last month and included power drills, chainsaws, circular saws and hammer drills.
A viewing event is due to take place on Saturday 27 June between 9am -4pm and Sunday 28 June between 9am – 1pm at police headquarters in Enderby, LE19 2BX.
A similar event took place a few weeks ago when eighty visitors viewed hundreds of stolen tools and 67 were claimed by their rightful owners.
Potential owners are being asked to provide some form of proof of ownership, either through a receipt or distinguishing marks and scratches.
Last month the Force uploaded more than 200 photos of the recovered property onto its website. https://www.flickr.com/photos/leicspolice-property/sets/72157654919174411
The items were recovered over the May bank holiday weekend from locations across Leicester and Leicestershire. It is believed to have been stolen from vans across the East Midlands since January 2015.
Detective Inspector Johnny Monks, said: “We recovered hundreds of items and have been working to reunite them with their rightful owners.
“The first viewing event was successful and a number of owners were reunited with their tools. However, we do still have a quantity of items which have not yet been claimed. If you feel these tools may be long to you please contact us using the form. https://leics.police.uk/contact/recovered-tools
“There is a strong possibility that some of the tools may have been stolen from the Nottinghamshire or Derbyshire areas and we would encourage people living or working in those areas to consider coming along to the event if they have been a victim of a similar crime in the last six months.”
Six men aged between 14 and 27 have been arrested for theft offences and have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
