Driver in serious condition following Lutterworth collision

A driver has been left with serious injuries following a road traffic collision in Lutterworth yesterday.

Police were called at around 2.15pm on Thursday (14 December)to the A426 Rugby Road close to the junction with Shawell Road following a collision involving a Vauxhall Mokka and a white cement tanker.

The driver of the Mokka was taken to the University Hospital in Coventry where he remains in a serious condition.

The driver of the tanker was not injured.

At the time of the collision the Vauxhall was travelling towards Rugby while the tanker was travelling in the opposite direction towards Lutterworth.

PC John Borlase, the investigating officer, is appealing for witnesses to the collision. He said: “I would be keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or who saw either vehicle beforehand to please contact us quoting incident 379 of 14 December.”
