East Goscote stabbing: man arrested

Detectives investigating a stabbing in East Goscote have this evening (Monday 15 October) arrested a 24-year-old man.

The man, from East Goscote, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in police custody.

At around 6.50pm yesterday, police received a call from the East Midlands Ambulance Service stating that they were attending an incident in Lilac Way following a report that a man had been stabbed.

When officers arrived, they found that a 35-year-old man had suffered a serious stab wound and was taken to hospital. He currently remains in a stable condition.

Enquiries are ongoing and officers will remain in East Goscote tomorrow (Tuesday 16 October). No other suspects are being sought in connection with this incident.

Detective Inspector Tim Lindley, from Leicestershire Police’s Complex investigation team, said: “Although we’ve made an arrest, I’m still keen to speak to anyone who was in the area of Lilac Way on Sunday evening and is yet to come forward.

“Any information, no matter how insignificant you think it may be, could help with my investigation. If you’ve not yet spoken to police, then please give us a call.”
