Enquiries continue after man found injured - roads reopened

Enquiries are continuing after a man was found injured last night in Leicester city centre.

Police were called at around 10.40pm last night (Thursday 1 June) by the ambulance service to a report of a man found seriously injured in Norton Street.

The man is currently at the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham where his condition is described as critical.

Investigations are ongoing to ascertain how he sustained his injuries however initial enquiries suggest the man was involved in a road traffic collision.

Norton Street at the junction of Upper and Lower Brown Street was closed to allow for a forensic examination of the scene. All roads have since reopened.

We are keen to speak to the occupants of a black Audi which stopped at the scene to give medical assistance to the man but left before police arrived.

They could have vital information in relation to the incident so we would urge them to get in touch.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting 17*230008.
