Foreign currency stolen from Barnstaple home

The public are being asked to look out for anyone trying to exchange large quantities of foreign currency following a burglary in Barnstaple.

Offenders broke a downstairs window to get inside the property in Goodleigh Road between 9am and 5.30pm on Thursday 1 June.

They escaped with a large quantity of foreign currency, including Swiss Francs, United Arab Emirates Dirham, Swedish Krona and Danish Krone. Also stolen was a yellow metal necklace with pendant.

Police are appealing for witnesses and urging anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the area at the time of the offence to contact them.

Officers are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have been offered the exchange of, or seen anyone in possession of, the foreign currency in the area.
