A fourth person has been arrested by detectives this morning (Wednesday 17 January) in connection with the murder of Mark Swinhoe in Loughborough.
Officers were called to Moira Street in the early hours of Sunday morning (14 January) following a report of two injured people.
Mark, 38, of Long Eaton, was being treated by paramedics for a stab wound when he died at the scene.
A woman sustained minor injuries to her face and was treated at the scene.
Today a 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and taken into custody, where he will be questioned by detectives.
A 22-year-old man arrested earlier this week on suspicion of murder and a 23-year-old man arrested overnight yesterday on suspicion of assisting an offender remain in police custody.
The 19-year old woman who was also arrested overnight yesterday on suspicion of assisting an offender, has since been released pending further investigations.
Enquiries are continuing into the incident and officers are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or the events leading up to it to make contact.
Detective Chief Inspector Martin Smalley, from East Midlands Special Operations Unit Major Crime Team, said: “Our enquiries are very much ongoing as we continue to investigate the incident to fully establish the circumstances.
“We urge anyone witnessed the incident or the events leading up to it or who has any information and has not already made contact with us to get in touch. Your information could help us with our enquiries.”
