Guns and cartridges were seized after police swooped on addresses in Birmingham today (Tuesday 6 June).
Officers carried out two early morning raids in Bedlam Wood Road and Farren Road, Northfield, during a pre-planned operation.
Three guns were recovered in the raids which follow an investigation into shots being fired in Bristol Road South on 13 May. No-one was injured during the incident.
It also forms part of an on-going crackdown on suspected organised crime groups in Birmingham.
Two men, aged 31 and 23, along with a 16-year-old boy, were arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm and remain in custody for questioning.
Detective Sergeant Adam Hicklin, from Force CID, said: “The seizure of these guns and cartridges should reassure the public how seriously we take the illegal possession of firearms.
“This was a pre-planned operation and we anticipate there will be more in the future. A gun in the wrong hands can have potentially very serious consequences.
“The public are our eyes and ears on the ground; if you suspect anyone is involved in gang related crime or anti-social behaviour please contact us on 101; or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
