Man admits part in robbery of Leicester jeweller

A Leicester man has today (Friday May 18) admitted in court that he took part in the kidnap and robbery of a city jeweller in January.

Callan Reeve, 19, of Biddle Road, appeared before Leicester Crown Court where he entered guilty pleas to charges of kidnap and robbery in relation to Ramnikal Jogiya. The 19-year-old is also charged with the murder / manslaughter of the 74-year-old jeweller, from Brandon Street, Leicester. He formally denied this charge.

Mr Jogiya was reported missing by his family when he failed to return home having locked up his shop in Belgrave Road at 7.30pm on the evening of January 25. His body was found the following morning in Gaulby Lane, Stoughton.

Reeve is one of four men charged with the kidnap, robbery, murder / manslaughter of Mr Jogiya on the evening of 25 January.

Javon Roach, 30, of Norwich Road, Leicester, entered not guilty pleas to all the charges at today’s court hearing

Charles Frances Mcauley, 20, of Gooding Avenue, Leicester, will appear before the court at a later date.

Thomas Jervis, 24, of Enderby Road, Whetstone, Leicester, will appear at court this afternoon.
