Man bailed following robbery at village post office

A man arrested in connection with a robbery at Mountsorrel Post Office in Leicester Road has been bailed.

Police were called at around 5.30pm on Tuesday (17 January) to the address by a member of the public.

A man sustained minor head injuries in the incident and was taken to hospital. He has since been discharged.

A large amount of cash was taken during the incident.

The 39-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of robbery and has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
