Man found assaulted in Leicester city centre - roads reopen

Officers are investigating after a man was stabbed in Leicester city centre early this morning.

The victim, a man in his fifties, was found injured at around 12.50am this morning (Wednesday 31 May) at the junction of Sanvey Gate and Soar Lane by a passing police car.

He has been taken to hospital for treatment to a stab wound where he remains in a critical but stable condition.

A scene preservation was in place at the junction with Sanvey Gate, Soar Lane, Frog Island and Great Central Street, and there was no access to Jarvis Street.

All roads have now reopened.

A number of enquiries are ongoing this afternoon including CCTV enquiries and we are appealing for anyone who saw the attack happen to please get in touch.
