Man found injured in Belgrave Gate - roads reopened

Police are investigating after a man was stabbed in Leicester city centre in the early hours of this morning.

Officers on patrol found the victim, a 21-year-old man injured at around 3.45am today (Sunday 2 July) outside Brighthouse on Belgrave Gate.

He was taken to hospital where he is being treated for a stab wound. He is said to be in a stable condition.

Scene preservation was in place from a car park off Mansfield Street to Belgrave Gate and there was no access to the Haymarket car park. These areas have since been reopened.

Enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the assault are in the very early stages.

Four men were arrested at the scene for an un-related public order offence.
