A man who was found dead in Braunstone Lane East last month has been identified following an appeal for public help.
The man was found at around 10.30pm on 11 July. His death is not suspicious. Despite exhaustive efforts, officers were unable to find out who he is.
However, the man has now been identified as a result of a public appeal, which included an artist’s impression of him, as well as a photograph of a distinctive tattoo.
Detective Constable Steve Winterton, the investigating officer, said: “We had a really good response from the public as a result of our appeal and I’d like to thank everyone who shared it.
“We had a number of calls, one of which provided us with the information that has allowed us to identify the man. A file has now been prepared for the coroner.”
