Man who died following collision in city street named by police

A man who died following a collision the city centre on 1 June has been named by police.

Robert Allen, 63, was found seriously injured in Lower Brown Street at its junction with Norton Street at around 10.40pm.

He was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre, in Nottingham, where he died from his injuries the following day.

Enquiries have found that Mr Allen, from Leicester, was injured a result of a road traffic collision.

A 25-year-old man, from Leicester, has been arrested in connection with the incident and has been released pending further enquiries.
