A murder investigation has been launched after a man found lying in a Birmingham street this morning (Saturday) has died.
Officers were alerted to a man being discovered with suspected stab wounds in Moseley Street, Highgate, at around 3.30am.
Paramedics were called but the man, believed to be in his 20s, was pronounced dead on his way to hospital.
Detective Inspector Paul Joyce, from Force CID, said: “We are still trying to piece together what happened in the street in the early hours of the morning.
“We are looking into reports there was an altercation but I would urge anybody with any information to get in contact with me and my team as soon as possible.”
Part of Moseley Street has been cordoned off while a thorough forensic search is carried out; with detectives also examining CCTV in the area.
