Police appeal after reports of gun shots in Birmingham

Police are appealing for information after attending reports of gun shots being fired in Bartley Green yesterday (Saturday 30 July).

Officers were called to the junction of Field Lane and Scotland Lane at around 5.30pm.

Gun shots are reported to have been fired and a white Vauxhall Corsa was seen leaving the scene. No-one is known to have been injured.

Two men aged 23 and 22 have been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm and are currently in police custody.

Detective Inspector Shaun Egan, from West Midlands Police Force CID, said: “There were a large number of people in the area at the time who could have valuable information to assist this investigation.

“We would urge anyone with information to call us on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
