Police appeal following China Town assault

Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault that took place in Birmingham at the weekend.

Officers were called to Ladywell Walk in China Town at 3:50am on Sunday 9 July following reports of an assault.

A 19-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment for a head injury.

A 22-year-old man has been voluntarily interviewed about the incident and officers are appealing for anyone who saw what happened or has any footage to get in touch.

Investigating Officer DC Laurence Green from Force CID said: “ We are working hard to piece together the evidence we have, but we need you to tell us what you saw.

“There were a number of people in the area at the time of the attack and we know that some recorded the incident on their mobile phones.

“If anyone has any footage of the incident please email it to me. You are welcome to remain anonymous if you prefer.

“If you were there, or have any other information which may assist our enquiry – no matter how small. Please share this with us so we can take those responsible off the streets and prevent this from happening again.
