Police appeal following fatal collision on A38 near Bodmin

Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision on the A38 in the Glynn Valley.

Police were informed at around 2.15am on Friday 19th August of a multiple vehicle collision and a number of people seriously injured.

The collision involved a Saab and a Ford Fiesta, a third vehicle, a Mercedes Vito van also sustained minor damage as a result of debris being thrown from the collision.

A number of people were taken to Derriford as a result of the collision. The driver of the Saab, a 60-year-old man from Plymouth died at hospital. Two female passengers from the Saab also sustained injuries but have since been released from hospital.

The driver of the Ford Fiesta, an 18-year-old man from Bodmin suffered multiple serious injuries and he remains in a critical but stable condition at Derriford

The road was re-opened at around 11.20am.
