Police are appealing for information following a serious collision early this morning (Saturday 3 June) in Erdington.
Officers were called to Tyburn Road in Erdington just before 1am this morning to a report of a serious collision involving one car.
A black Mitsubishi Colt car collided with the central reservation and a tree before coming to a halt.
A 21-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious head and chest injuries, where he remains in a serious condition today.
The road was closed for a short time while emergency services made the road safe.
Detective Sergeant Paul Hughes from the Collision Investigation Unit said: ‘”I need to consider all possible causes and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision, or remembers seeing the vehicle being driven just prior to the collision, and hasn’t already spoken to police to contact myself or my team.”
