Police arrest two people in connection with stabbing in Coventry

Detectives investigating a stabbing in Earlsdon, Coventry have arrested two people overnight.

A 21-year-old man from Coventry has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and a 23-year-old woman has been detained on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Officers launched an investigation after a 35-year-old local man was found with serious injuries on the car park of the BP service station in The Butts, Coventry at 1.50am Sunday 11 June.

The man was taken to hospital, where he remains this morning in a critical condition.

Police continue to investigate the incident and forensic examinations of the scene continue.

Detective Inspector Justin Spanner, from the force’s CID, said: “Our enquiries into what happened in the early hours of Sunday remain on-going; two people have been arrested overnight in connection with the incident, but we are still asking for anyone with information to contact us. Specialist officers continue to supported the man’s family.”
