Precious jewellery stolen in Ilfracombe burglary

Police seeking witnesses after precious jewellery was taken from an Ilfracombe home.

Offenders got inside the property in Arcade Road sometime between 11.45pm on Friday 6 January and 10am the next day.

They made an untidy search of the premises before stealing items of jewellery of sentimental value as well as electrical items.

Stolen were:

  • A large oval amethyst ring set in pearls around an inch wide.

  • A diamond ring with a filigree setting of diamonds.

  • A pair of black pearl earrings in a gold swirl setting with tiny diamonds.

  • A pair of antique rectangular earrings each carrying a ruby and small diamonds.

  • A pair of garnet drop earrings.

  • A garnet and gold bracelet.

  • A gold brooch carrying emeralds, pearls and garnets.

  • A silver St Christopher necklace in a long blue box.

  • Various pieces of costume jewellery.

The offenders also escaped with a number of electrical items including a Toshiba laptop, an Elise digital portable radio, a wall-mounted television, two portable hard drives, a small Nikon camera plus a £400 women’s white sheepskin gilet.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious at the time in the area of Arcade Road at the time of the offence. They would also like to hear from anyone who may have been offered the items for sale.
