Stabbing in Belgrave Gate - enquiries continue

Police are continuing their investigations after a man was stabbed in the city centre at the weekend.

Officers on patrol found the 21-year-old victim injured at around 3.45am on Sunday (2 July) outside Brighthouse in Belgrave Gate.

He was taken to hospital with a stab wound and remains in a stable condition.

Detectives are looking into the circumstances surrounding the incident and are in the process of going through CCTV footage from the area.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who was in Belgrave Gate during the early hours of Sunday morning who saw the incident take place, or know who was responsible.

Call the police on 101 quoting incident 157 of 2 July.

Three of the four men arrested at the scene for unrelated public order offences have been released with no further action. The fourth has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
