Officers investigating the death of five-year-old Charlie Dunn have charged two people.
Charlie drowned following an incident at Bosworth Water Park, near Hinckley, on 23 July last year.
Lynsey Dunn, 28 and Paul Smith, 36, both of Caledonian, Glascote Heath, Tamworth , have each been charged with manslaughter by gross negligence.
They appeared at Leicester Magistrates’ Court this morning (21 June).
Dunn and Smith have also both been charged with seven child neglect offences, alleged to have taken place between April 2012 and July 2016.
In addition, Smith has been charged with two counts of witness intimidation, alleged to have taken place in March 2017 and June 2017, one count of threats to damage or destroy property by fire in June 2017, and eight driving offences which are alleged to have taken place in January and June 2017.
They are both due to appear at Leicester Crown Court on 5 July.
