Two week operation to tackle illegal parking in Ystrad

From Monday 9th February, Ystrad Mynach officers will be starting a two week operation to tackling illegal parking around Ystrad town centre.
During the first week, officers will be educating drivers about where they can park and how they can park legally.
Officers will also be liaising with shop owners, asking them to help by informing their customers on the parking initiative and where parking is available in the town centre.
Officers will also be working with Caerphilly County Borough Council to look at longer term measures to alleviate parking problems.
During the second week, officers will be giving out fines to drivers seen parking illegally.
CSO Rebecca Chilvers explained: “We want to remind all drivers to park legally for the safety of everyone using the town centre. The first week gives drivers the chance to understand where they can park and speak to us with any queries they have. During the second week, we will be giving out fines to tackle those drivers that continue to park illegally, despite our warnings.”
