Police searching for wanted man Sean Perry can now confirm the possible sighting in Leeds was not him.
On Sunday (2 July) a man believed to match the description of Perry, 46, who also uses the surnames Cawthray and Goldthorpe, was seen in Leeds city centre.
Following a trawl of CCTV from the local area West Yorkshire Police confirmed that the man was not Sean Perry.
The last confirmed sighting of Perry was at his probation-approved address in Leicester city centre at 2pm on Monday 19 June. He failed to return later that day, and as a result is in breach of his prison licence.
Perry is white, about 6ft tall, of slim build with short cropped dark hair and blue eyes. When last seen in Leicester he was wearing grey-coloured shorts and a grey short sleeve T-shirt emblazoned with a large ‘23′ motif in white on the front. He was also wearing black trainers and was carrying a grey and black backpack.
Extensive enquiries are continuing to locate Perry and anyone who sees Perry should not approach him but call the police immediately.
Perry is also known to have links to Bridlington and Leeds in Yorkshire and Suffolk, we would ask people living and working in those areas to keep a look out and contact their local police station or Leicestershire Police if they see him.
If you have seen him or someone who matches this description, or you know where he might be, call 101, quoting Leicestershire’s incident number 95 of 29 June.
