Wiltshire Police are appealing for witnesses following a robbery in Swindon.

The incident took place between 8.40pm and 8.50pm on Monday 22nd December 2014 in Wharf Green.

A 17 year-old girl was sat alone on a bench when she was approached by five girls. One of the girls repeatedly punched the victim to the face while another kicked her several times in the shin.

The victim’s handbag was taken and all five girls walked off in the direction of the Tented Market.

The handbag contained the victim’s purse as well as a number of Christmas presents. The handbag is described as a black leather handbag with two zips on the front.

CCTV images of five girls police would like to speak to in connection with this incident are attached.
