Witnesses to Hinckley collision urged to speak to police

Detectives making enquiries into the circumstances of a collision are asking for public help as part of their investigation.

The collision happened in Overlord Drive, Hinckley, at around 5.45pm yesterday (Wednesday). A car, a white Kia Sportage, was in collision with two children.

A 10-year-old girl and nine-year-old boy were taken to Birmingham Children’s Hospital with serious injuries. They remain in hospital.

Detective Constable Michael Woods, the investigating officer, said: “This collision happened in a residential area when people are likely to have been arriving home from work. Did you see the collision or did you see either the two children or the car beforehand?
